Confidence

"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God." Psalm 20:7

In my previous post, I mentioned that I was rejected for a post I had applied for. Although the reason was cited - that my studies might affect my work and vice versa, my confidence fell by a few notches. I had thought my resume was rather impressive, with God blessing the work of my hands at many stages of my life.

I realised that I was putting my trust in my results and accomplishment and my confidence at work was based on these things. I thought of David and how he had approached Goliath in the name of the Lord while Goliath was adorned in sword and spear. David was unassuming in his own ability but he was certain of the power and might of His Big God. In Man's eyes, it was impossible to defeat the giant, but David did, with God's help. I rejoice that David's God is mine too.

And thus, I will trust in the Lord and lean not on my own understanding. In all my ways, I will acknowledge Him, knowing that He will direct my path. Thank You, Lord.
